Jim West
Piano, Guitar, Voice, Drums and Percussion
Jim has been performing and producing music for over four decades. Introduced to a wide range of musical styles at an early age, he was strongly influenced by his parents, who wrote their own musicals. Growing up, he performed in country, pop, jazz, and rock genres, and later co-owned a recording and music lesson studio with his brothers in Southern New Hampshire. Jim has continued producing music and creating arrangements for artists in various styles, often performing the vocal tracks himself. In 2010, he produced a Grammy-nominated children’s album.
Jim studied voice performance with Barbara Morash, a graduate of New England Conservatory, and Pam Lefebvre, a graduate of Boston University. He has led worship for more than 25 years, and one of his primary goals is to train others and help them achieve their musical goals.
Since 2015, Jim has served as a music instructor at Village Music School in Cary, NC, teaching piano, voice, drums and guitar. He now continues to teach VMS students online via Skype from Sparta, Tennessee. Jim also offers private online lessons and is actively reaching out to students in his local Tennessee communities and beyond. As of August 2025, he has been teaching private music lessons at Peachtree Learning Center in Sparta and Cookeville, TN.
Lessons are taught from his professional studio in Tennessee, where Jim combines his extensive performance background with a personalized approach to music education. To learn more about his work and offerings, visit Jim’s Studio Website.

Jim West Leading Worship at Goldston Baptist Church
In this live worship clip from Goldston Baptist Church, Jim leads the congregation with a focus on participation and heartfelt expression rather than performance. His approach blends musical excellence with a genuine desire to point people toward God, creating an atmosphere where voices in the room become just as important as the instruments on stage.
